Description
Basic Workshop Safety is on the forefront, ensuring that the tasks get done safely. Each candidate receives his/her own practice station where they are personally taught by the instructor Arc Welding, Brazing, Gas Cutting, Grinding and other forms of hot work to perform emergency repairs on board the vessel.
Our Diesel workshop is fitted with 7 different Engines and a ton of equipment and parts. In this class the student will rotate from station to station as they learn how to maintain, strip, service, find faults and correctly assemble the various parts.
This is the course where we make the theoretical work make sense by practically applying what we have learned in a controlled environment practice until we master the skills required.
Learning Objectives: The SAMSA matrix prescribes that the learner should have the following knowledge and practical skills at the end of the course, identify:
